Bern

The capital of Switzerland doesn’t feel like a capital at all! It’s a very nice city, filled with history, joyous people and beautiful culture. That’s where I learned that you can drink the water from every public fountain in Switzerland unless it’s marked otherwise. (Now that I’m back home in Germany, I have to remind myself that you can’t drink from our fountains!)

The government building in Bern is open to the public and in front of it you find a play of water like the one you see in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, but no one will arrest you for dancing there. It was so cool to see cheerfully screaming kids playing there!

In the heart of the city, at the river Aare, you find the Bernese Bears, three young brown bears, symbolising the heraldic animal of Bern.
